How to grip a handgun to manage recoil?

Many people think that you have to grip the hell out of your gun with both hands to control recoil.

Recoil is primarily controlled through your structure behind the gun. The grip is crucial because it connects your structure to the gun.

You can grip as hard as you want with your support hand but if you grip too hard with your shooting hand it can put tension in the wrong muscles preventing you from manipulating the trigger correctly. This is the reason that most people don't get consistent hits.
